Accessible Gardens
Burlington

This was the first garden I designed because I wanted to make sure it was wheelchair accessible. I also wanted it to be beautiful. The neighbours were open to the suggestion of columns instead of a fence and a Mediterranean theme was started.

This garden was featured in articles in the 'Burlington Post' and 'Toronto Star' newspapers.

By choosing interlocking brick, we were able to make the ramp an integral part of the landscaping.
As you round the corner of the back of the house there is an arbor to greet you with a bench, for resting, and lots of room for a wheelchair or two.

The waterfall and pond (below). Just to left of it is the patio, with an accessible table. The path meanders all over the garden providing access to every corner, and it looks great too.

In the distance you can see roman columns marking the boundary.
